ENGLISH STYLE SLIP-DECORATED EARTHENWARE

[/fusion_text][fusion_text][/fusion_text][fusion_text]Slip-decorated earthenware, usually referred to as simply slipware, was widely produced in Brittan, Wales , and Scotland in the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries. The design techniques were highly defined and the items were produced as a luxury. Many of the pieces had elaborate scenes that included ships, moon and stars as well as birds and flowers. The techniques used with the slip were sgraffito, combware, and marbling.
